Enhancing Market Access for Smallholders (EMAS)
Frontier is pleased to announce the launch of the implementation of the Enhancing Market Access for Smallholder Farmers in Zambia (EMAS) project in partnership with the UN World Food Program (WFP) Purchase for Progress (P4P) program and the Zambia Agricultural Commodity Exchange (ZAMACE). This flagship project is funded by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), an international organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. The EMAS project has been designed to increase smallholder farmers’ access to more competitive markets in order to stimulate agricultural production and increase farmers’ incomes through improved postharvest management, better warehousing systems, enhanced information dissemination mechanisms and structured trade systems. EMAS will be implemented by Frontier until 2015.
